In addition to my gratitude journal and a notebook I have that I fill with help and advice for my depression/anxiety, I have now started a “Good Things” journal. “What’s that?” you might ask. Well, it is a way for me to track the good things in my life, especially the ways I am working on improving myself.
Any step I take in the right direction gets jotted down. Any love I feel or express is also noted. Though I have only had the journal for a few days, I have already experienced a boost in my mood because of it.
Being able to keep track of all the things that make me happy or content or even confident is a step towards peace in and of itself. And I like the way I formatted it. My gratitude journal still makes me happy and feel blessed. But my “Good Things” notebook is written in a very unstructured way, much in the same way my mind works.
I hope all of you out in Internetland have your own ways of feeling joy and peace. I highly recommend keeping journals as well 🙂
