I haven’t posted about this yet because I don’t want to jinx it, but Choo-choo has been sleeping through the night. YAY!!! I mean, this is seriously awesome.
He hadn’t slept all night through in I literally cannot remember how long. I thought it would never happen. There was one little blip earlier this year, but that ended rather quickly. I had completely given up hope. I even stopped mentioning it to him. Continue reading “Progress (and it’s a big one!)”
It happened. Something Diesel and I have disagreed on doing since Choo-choo was born. Something I have been absolutely terrified of. Something that was going to happen no matter how I felt. We took our son on his first canoe trip.

I so love having hours to myself. I clean, write more for my manuscript in progress, work on this blog, and–sometimes–take a nap. And lately, I have been pampering myself. Moisturizing treatments, scrubs, and especially facials. Continue reading “Enjoying some “me” time”
Lately, we have been finding surprises in the most unexpected places.
We have let our plants, flowers, and weeds (that look like flowers) that are close to the house grow in order to watch the birds, bees, and butterflies enjoy them. We also feed the birds with sunflower seeds, thistle, a corn/seed mix, and suet in our many bird feeders. Continue reading “Garden surprises”
Choo-choo likes to act out things we have read in his books. He has a book called “The Magic Moon Machine” from the 1980s that he just loves. It’s about a little boy who wants to ride in a spaceship to go to the moon with an astronaut. Problem is, the boy brings far too much stuff, which of course makes the machine too heavy to lift off.
My son decided to do re-enact this book with our giant maroon cushion serving as the space craft. Continue reading “Fly me to the moon”
One day, Choo-choo and I spent the whole afternoon pretending to be explorers. We “hiked” through the woods, we journeyed around a lake, and we went on safari in the jungle. We spotted different animals along the way.
While by the lake, we saw a bird. (We are known bird watchers, you know.) I asked Choo-choo what the bird looked like. He started naming color after color after color. From its wings to its head to its body, the bird was more colorful than a rainbow.
Soon, it was time for Choo-choo’s nap. He began throwing a big fit until Continue reading “Climbing up the mountain”
I’m off to bed soon, but I still wanted to say hello to you all. Diesel, Choo-choo, and I had a very long but exciting day, first at the local zoo then over at the beach. I hope you all enjoyed this day as much as we did!
