When the course of mindset is up in the airChoo-choo woke up two hours earlier than usual this morning and refused to go back to sleep. After yesterday morning–when he quietly removed all the drawers from his dresser and placed them on the floor then filled the drawers with his toys–and yesterday afternoon–when he absolutely refused to lie down in bed and put up such a fight that I ended up sobbing in the bathroom while Diesel tended to our son–I was so not mentally and emotionally prepared for another sleepy time battle.

Being mindful of my attitudes

So, I told you yesterday about my fun-filled day with Choo-choo. I thought for sure that since we had such a great day, we would naturally have a great night, too.

No such luck.

Yep. We had another long night. Choo-choo woke up and called to me 15 times throughout the night, from midnight to just after 6 AM. I’m not even kidding. I wish I were.

Let me tell you: having woken up late, breakfast was late, which means I was late taking my medicine. Choo-choo’s naptime was late because I wanted us to have time to play and have fun.

Late to bed, early to rise

We had a long weekend last week. Choo-choo went to sleep hours after bedtime both Friday and Saturday night despite all efforts to put him in bed sooner. He was so exhausted but fought it.
