Our unwanted “guest”

On a quiet, normal day, Diesel sits in the living room playing a game with Choo-choo before leaving for work. I go out to the mudroom to start a load of dirty clothes in the washing machine. I open the dryer and washer doors. Out of the corner of my eye, I see something small and brown. Right now in the US, we are in the middle of Mental Illness Awareness Week, which spans from October 1 through October 7. For those who don’t know what this is or what it means, the Mental Illness Awareness Week is put on every year to help fight the stigma associated with mental illnesses. This is me

Hello my name is

Talking to people, especially those I don’t know, has always been an ordeal for me. I get shaky, my heart races, I feel nauseous. Sometimes I feel like I will open my mouth and nothing will come out. That has actually happened once or twice.
