My guest posts round-up

Hey everyone!

I’ve been feeling a bit under the weather and desperately need to go rest. But first, I wanted to pop on here and share a round-up of other blogs I have had the wonderful privilege of guest posting or collaborating on.

First up, ideas on how to find time for peace as a mom, Continue reading “My guest posts round-up”

Bad Joke Day…

Bad Joke Day...Today was one of those bad joke kind of days. The whole “Everything that can go wrong will go wrong” totally applied to us today.

I couldn’t find my house keys. We were late to meet my cousin. When Diesel, Choo-choo, and I were finally in the truck and on the way (after a guy stopped by to talk to my husband about his truck since it’s a cool vintage), we immediately had to turn around and Continue reading “Bad Joke Day…”

About that weekend vacation… (Part 2)

So, you already know the first few days of last weekend, when Diesel, Choo-choo and I were on our last camping trip of the year. Here’s the rest of the story:

The Seriously Ugly:

Because I was sobbing, Choo-choo began sobbing. “Why are you crying, Mommy?” he asked between sobs. I couldn’t even answer him.

Sick child

End of the weekend update

So, Diesel, Choo-choo, and I returned home from our last camping trip of the year a few short hours ago now. I’m too tired to give details just yet, but I can say Continue reading “End of the weekend update”

Showing kindness in relationships

Relationships can be hard. They require hard work sometimes. They require both people to be actively involved. Yes, there are occasions when one may need to work harder than the other, usually due to extenuating circumstances. Mostly, though, spouses and significant others should be partners.

Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. That fact makes me really sad. Diesel and I aren’t often on the same page when Continue reading “Showing kindness in relationships”

A shining light in the storm

Lighthouses have played a big role in my life with Diesel. He proposed to me on top of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in North Carolina. We were married just over a year later next to the Little Sable Point Lighthouse in Michigan. Choo-choo’s very first “vacation” was to a lighthouse in the winter, when I was only two months pregnant with him.

Diesel and I have visited nearly every single lighthouse or light station in Continue reading “A shining light in the storm”

Grow old along with me!

I have always dreamed of growing old together with Diesel.

Hands of seniors

It sounds like such a cliché, I know. It’s the start of one of my favorite poems: “Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be!” And yet it is still something I hope for. Continue reading “Grow old along with me!”
